1. Ben Clay letter of recommendation

To you whom are seeking:

What a true honor it is to work with Jim Davis, and furthermore, to call him my friend; although I do not see him as a friend, I see him as the father that I’ve never known, but always wanted.

My name is Ben Clay; I am the Web Developer for this website. I am also a recovering alcoholic. However, today, I am a new creation.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
(2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV)

I got sober at the age of 24, and by the grace of God alone, I have been sober ever since. I have been sober for over 4 years now.

I grew up in a Christian, but also in a broken, home; my father claimed Christianity, and for that reason, I blamed God for everything. I walked away from God and from my church for a long time. However, in sobriety, I have returned both to my Father (God) and to my church. Today, I am a strong Christian man and a good husband. Today, I am heavily dependent on God and God alone. I come to Him each morning in prayer and devotion, and He fills my cup, giving me the strength that I need to make it through the day; although I pray all day every day. Accordingly, He speaks and acts through me. This website has been powered by God the Father, Jesus our Savior, and the Holy Spirit, as they and His Word are understood by Jim Davis and myself. For over 3 years now, Jim and I have been seeking to bring His Truth to His kids. That is literally all that I want in my life today – to do God’s work, and I am both humbled and proud that He has chosen me to do it. I am truly blessed in Spirit and Truth!

If there is one thing that I know well, it is quality in all its forms. Having just finished going through Jim’s entire program this past year, I can attest to the quality of Jim’s materials in the following ways: 1) from the following client letters of recommendation, I know that his program truly works. It lives up to their hype. How? Because Jim’s program is Biblical. God truly does work through relationships. In a million ways more than one, we are not meant to be “lone ranger Christians,” as Jim refers to it. 2) His materials are masterfully written and thorough, nothing is missing; his program is literally all a client needs to be successful in career and life, other than the Bible itself; although you will find much of the Bible in Jim’s program as well. 3) Which brings me to this reason, not only does Jim’s program meet clients’ needs in a practical sense, helping them to find the job assignments of their dreams, for which God has planned and designed them for, it also nourishes our spirits spiritually, as it has done for me.

Now, I shall leave you finally with this – please read and ponder my life verse: if God apparently made Jeremiah suffer so badly, then why does Jeremiah say that God gives him hope?

“The thought of my suffering is bitter beyond words. I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss.

“Yet, I still dare to hope when I remember this:

“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in Him!’ The Lord is good to those who depend on Him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord. And it is good for people to submit at an early age to the yoke of His discipline.” (Lamentations 3:19-27 NLT)

Today, I know that my Father is proud of who I am, thanks in a large part, to my Divine appointment on this BestPath project. I am forever grateful. Thank you Lord, and thank you Jim Davis for helping to remind me of His Truths!

2. Laurice Baddour letter of recommendation

To God’s children,

It is my genuine and immense honor to recommend BestPath Foundation (BPF) to you – any individual in any career path, from any nation – who is seeking to enjoy continued life-long results from a strategic life purpose coaching program that keeps you focused on God’s unique purpose for you. Your search ends, and your prayers are answered, here.

BPF is an outstanding, one-of-a-kind, comprehensive, internationally user-friendly online package, creatively designed to propel the marketplace professional and the ministry servant to a real understanding of his/her design, and into alignment with God’s highest design for one’s life. BPF has built into its highly personalized program on-going support by an Authorized Personal Counselor who has successfully worked through the extensive training, and is beginning to walk out his/her purpose.

For just over 20 years, I have been privileged and blessed to have had both a business and personal relationship with Jim Davis, the Founder and Owner of BPF and Resources Unlimited Group, as my Life Coach. At my initial encounter, I knew that I had been led to a Christian counselor and career coach who had truly been trained by the Lord and His Word, as well as by business, the military, and full-time ministry. What I did not know is that Jim is a faithful and loyal life purpose coach. His investment in my life has radically changed me, has pointed me to Christ, and opened me to become the marketplace and ministry servant to which I have been called. Every part of my world has been touched and renewed because of his Godly wisdom.

In terms of Jim’s stellar character, it has not changed over the decades. He loves the Lord, his family, and all in his sphere of influence. His life models a Biblical worldview; one cannot know Jim and not be impacted for the Kingdom. He is a very trustworthy, honest, hard-working, dedicated, intuitive, humble, intelligent, strategic, passionate, and positive visionary – he sees far beyond the horizon for each individual, and inspires each to exceed one’s self-imposed limitations. His servitude has motivated me to regularly transcend my comfort zones.

In terms of Jim’s professional interactions and superlative life purpose coaching program, which are the outflow of his remarkable character, I have found them to be blameless and unrivaled. Before BPF became an online service, I had the tremendous opportunity to work manually and personally with Jim. The program offered me a power-packed relevant and insightful treasury of gems, including unparalleled methodologies and a bulls-eye Focus on Purpose. The immeasurable value – from honest self-evaluation, discovery of true identity, key competencies, and unyielding confidence, to leadership, authority, and decision-making – resulted in measurable success, superseding individuals already established in my field. His God-given approach to purpose – “moving from work to worship” – is still engrained in my worldview today.

I fully recommend and trust Jim Davis and the BestPath Foundation, because of positive life-changes that I and others have experienced for almost a generation. Now you can, as well, get on the BestPath from the place of your own choosing, and re-discover your value, purpose, and God-blessed destiny.

3. Fred Brooks letter of recommendation

Good afternoon my dear friend,

I’ve always admired your creativity and amazing intellect but the work you’ve done for the BestPath Foundation project is out of this world. As I heard you talk about it over the years it sounded pretty amazing but until I started seeing this package all together, I never understood what a special tool you were trying to explain to me. Our Lord always selects the right people to work His will as evidenced by your long hard years of work here. I’m thoroughly enjoying reading the material and seeing/listening to you talk on the videos. I can feel the excitement and joy in your voice that you are performing God’s work. It’s like reading a great book, I can’t wait to get to the next chapter. Wow my brother, the testimonials and the BPF marketplace minutes are mesmerizing. I especially enjoyed Ben’s testimonial which obviously came so deep from his heart. You have affected so many people in positive ways over your life. I’m excited to continue the journey over the next several weeks and looking so forward to August 26 (love the timing) when the rest of the world will know what I’ve known about you for over 50 years and God’s will be done. You are a special man my brother and I love you my dearest friend. Looking forward to hearing about the important thing happening.

4. Jody Sjogren letter of recommendation

To whom it may concern:

From time to time, I meet a person who either changes my perspective or accelerates my progress through life so significantly that I find myself asking, “Where has this person been for the last twenty years? Why didn’t I meet him when I was eighteen?”

Jim Davis is such a person, and the brief time that I have been privileged to know him as a career counselor has been one of the most educational periods of my life. When my husband was presented with the opportunity to find a new job recently, he took Jim’s intensive study course and interviewed for many positions. The coaching and teaching that Jim gave him enabled him to interview with confidence and success. With three firm job offers and a positive, realistic understanding of his professional worth, he was able to accept a job which appears to be God’s provision and the next logical step in his career. Through Jim’s program, my husband acquired not just secular employment, but a vision for what God has equipped him to do with his life. The value of this new-found vision is “far above rubies” to us, as we desire most of all to be doing what God wants us to do.

I met Jim as a result of my husband’s involvement in the career counseling program. My husband suggested that I might want to “just talk to Jim” and see if he could give me some pointers for my business (I am an artist and illustrator). In my first meeting with Jim, I came face to face with someone who was not afraid to make me face the toughest questions and answer them. The results of that meeting were affirmation, encouragement, instruction, and a real sense of hope for the future.

Since then, I have consulted with Jim on numerous occasions for advice on marketing, negotiating, sales, and creative projects for the future. I have followed his advice and found it to be trustworthy, which is a profound statement for me to make, having been in business for over 16 years, followed plenty of other “advice,” and watched much of it come to nothing (or grief)! This man is gifted by God with a thorough understanding of how things work in the world of people and business. His methods and approach to life are rooted in truth. His counsel can be trusted and applied successfully. His way works, because it is God’s way. He truly understands what “win/win” means, and he teaches others how to achieve it.

I cannot recommend Jim Davis highly enough. He is changing people’s lives and re-directing them to greater service for God, their families, and their communities. I will be forever grateful for his impact upon me and my husband, as he has helped us both to see how good God is.

5. David Brantley letter of recommendation

To whom it may concern:

Subject: Jim Davis

It is my pleasure to recommend Jim Davis to you as perhaps the best career development professional in the business.

Jim brings to every task the very broadest range of experience and professionalism. This is especially true in the areas of skills evaluation and career marketing, where his unique approach and attention to the spiritual person make his service worth far more than simply dollars and cents.

At the time I first enrolled in Jim’s program, my employment prospects were limited (at best). What seemed like one continuous rejection had eroded my self-confidence and distorted my perspective. After a single session, Jim Davis restored life to my job search. Enthusiasm and energy for the job search rebounded quickly, a reflection of his positive spirit.

By the fifth session, my job search “tools” had been completely overhauled and I had progressed far beyond my original expectations. I was unable to attend the sixth session having been offered a professional position at three times my previous salary.

Even though I am now a “graduate” of Jim’s program, he makes himself available to renew and update my skills, and to recharge my spiritual batteries.

Jim is an expert in drawing out the very best in his clients. His technique works especially well for those of us at “mid-life.” Instead of a crisis, Jim convinced me to welcome the opportunity to re-think the meaning of career, and to re-focus on skills and interests.

I am both a better professional and a more confident individual as a result. I would encourage you to accept my sincere recommendation for Jim Davis as a teacher, counselor, and friend.

6. Jeff Lashley letter of recommendation

I wanted to send you a brief note to thank you again for being such an integral part of determining God’s next assignment for me! Below is an announcement I just made on Facebook:

“Many know a year ago Kari and I decided that after a fulfilling 35 year career at Huntington, that it was time for me to take a step out in faith (Proverbs 3:5-6) and retire. Though I retired, we deferred any benefits and put our trust in the Lord to show us His plans for a new career and source of income (Jeremiah 29:11). The time off has been an incredible blessing – a new grandson and daughter (in-law) joined the family, and countless other quality family moments, but ten months also brought about a true test of patience and the faith I have claimed for over 33 years. We continued to trust as my desires were getting stronger toward a position in ministry, which we realized may mean a significant drop in salary and maybe not include things like medical benefits, but those desires grew stronger over time, as did our faith (Psalm 37:4).

On October 5th, I accepted the newly created role of CFO at Central Ohio Youth for Christ (COYFC.org). The position as accepted was part-time, but already funding has come through to allow me to work full-time at least through the end of the year!

COYFC’s logo includes the phrase: ‘Give life to your story,’ and as I think about that, I’m reminded of a comment made very recently by one of my best friends: ‘Seems like you were made for this position and organization.’ While I cannot confirm this is the case, I can confirm God has given me my next assignment and we are truly blessed!

That is my story… and I praise Jesus for the opportunity to share!”

As I look back on the past year, your direction was so important in my first real job search in 35 years. I have told many you gave me “rails,” which I needed desperately. You were very helpful from a practical standpoint, but more importantly, you were the man God chose to be a great encourager as well.

Thank you brother and may God bless you and your family this Christmas and beyond.

Your brother in Christ,

Jeff Lashley

7. David Murray letter of recommendation

To whom it may concern:

Jim Davis has been a trusted friend and advisor to me for almost 5 years now. He first became my career coach and counselor when I suddenly found myself without employment. Jim guided me in affirming my God-given passion for ministry, equipped me to go into the market and create opportunities, and coached me as I helped design a new position tailored to the employer’s needs and my strengths. Now, he is advising me again as I seek to focus even more tightly on what God has gifted and called me to do.

The quality of Jim’s ministry in career support is top-notch. He has a clear understanding of job market dynamics and has developed a system which takes advantage of those forces and propels a seeker past the competition into a position which is best for him. The toolkit one builds while working with Jim not only equips one for successful hunting, but also for success in the new organization. Workers trained by Jim are great assets to their employers, because they know how to stay sharp and get the input they need to serve their organization in the best ways.

The benefits of training with Jim Davis, however, only begin with job related skills. Jim has a clear pastoral gift, which is perfectly suited for helping a person who is going through the trials of career change. The position I left was in pastoral ministry, and for a time, we were not closely linked with a local church. My wife and I both felt that for the time I was working with Jim, God provided our family with a large part of the pastoral care we needed through him. I have seen this pastoral gift flourish more and more as Jim has grown in his ministry.

The Lord has developed a high degree of integrity, vision, and faith in Jim, as he has acted upon God’s call on his life. To know Jim is to experience a true disciple of Jesus in his passion to obey his Master in every way. It is easy to follow Jim’s guidance, because it is clear that Jim has walked the path himself, and continues to do so.

I am forever grateful for the Lord’s work in my life through Jim, and am also seeing his influence bearing fruit in others as I share the things I’ve learned. I highly recommend Jim Davis to anyone and to any endeavor he feels God is leading him to undertake.

8. Jordan Harrelson letter of recommendation

I just wanted to reach out to tell you how much the Focus on Purpose helped me get back in touch with my skills and gifts that will enable me to offer a better approach to my career path. Doing those exercises whereby I had to recall many life experiences in the workforce made me realize my God given abilities again and gave me the confidence to face the task at hand. Before doing the Focus module, I felt lost as I struggled to “find my way.” As I progressed through the pages of the Focus experiences, I relived those moments in a new way, which restored some faith I used to have in myself.

I especially love how you have combined both the Spiritual Gifts along with Natural Talents to help me realize that God truly has equipped me to be His ambassador in the marketplace and not just at church on Sundays.

Thank you Jim, this definitely helps me know myself better. It is my desire to target the areas I can not only be good at, but areas that I can make an effective contribution in the workplace.

Again, I thank you for your help through the BestPathFoundation.com website. It is definitely a good investment for the job search and for my life path too.

9. Brent Long letter of recommendation

To whom it may concern:

Re: Mr. Jim Davis

I am writing to testify to the quality of character and the quality of counseling of Mr. Jim Davis.

I have known Jim for several years, and have found him to be a man above reproach. One of the things that I have discovered about Jim is his ability to remain open and teachable while being so full of wisdom and conviction. He is a man who truly strives to live out his belief system, not being fake or pretend in any areas. His faith is deeply rooted and he freely gives of himself to the relationships around him in a way that he models Jesus Christ. Jim is truly a caring person, firm in his handling of people close to him, because he loves them enough to be honest with them. Jim is a leader, and has proven himself in the years that I have known him to be trusted in all that he says and does. I have one son and three daughters, and would count it a blessing if my son and future sons-in-law would grow to possess the kind character that I find in Jim Davis.

As for the quality of counseling that Jim delivers, I believe in it enough to refer many folks his way over the years that I have known him. Because of his character (see above), his reproach to counseling is very mentor/mentoree oriented. His material is more solid than any other I have found, and he fluidly wraps all of his teaching and coaching around a Biblical foundation. The servant’s heart that Jim possesses is truly reflective in his work with clients. He truly cares about each person as a human being, and helps each client discover the value he or she brings to the marketplace. Jim’s wisdom is great and his unique insights provide such a depth of understanding of the needs of his clients that are truly seeing the best that Life Coaching and Career Counseling have to offer. If the person/people reading his testimony were truly in need of exploring their calling and the deep understanding of how to prepare for the next opportunity in the marketplace, I would not hesitate to suggest that Jim Davis be the person to walk you through that journey.

I truly hope these few thoughts have been helpful. This is just a small portion of what I could write about Jim Davis and what he represents in my life. May you look on him with great favor, as you will not find any other more worthy.

Very truly yours,

To whom it may concern:

What an honor it is to write a letter of recommendation for Jim Davis and Resources Unlimited Group. I met Jim back in 1990 when I became a client of his. I immediately felt comfortable with his counseling style and felt that he truly had my best interests in mind.

When Jim and I first met, I was going through a painful divorce as well as feeling totally lost with my career direction. I knew I was being called to do something else, but had no idea what that was or how to go about making the change. Jim immediately began helping me to understand what my skills and gifts were and how to go about applying them in the market. I was out in the market in just a few short weeks and immediately began to see the fruits of my time and money invested with Jim. I was very confident in my abilities and within a few short weeks, I accepted my next assignment after negotiating a 20% pay increase, but it didn’t stop there! Since I started working with Jim, I have had nine promotions and pay increases totaling close to 300%!

Jim and I have kept in touch over the years and have had the opportunity to work together on various projects. In all my dealings with Jim, I have found him to be very passionate about his calling, very detailed and organized, and a tremendous asset to any project or situation.

One would only need to go as far as talking with anyone who knows, or has worked with Jim, to see the positive impact he has had on his or her life.

11. Carolyn Jones letter of recommendation

Dear Jim,

It is my privilege to provide you with this letter of recommendation.

As you will recall, approximately five years ago, I suddenly and unexpectedly found myself out of work. At the time, I was stunned, hurt, furious, and desirous of revenge. With skill and Godly wisdom, you led me out of a labyrinth of pain to experience hope and healing in a God-honoring way.

Looking back, I would not trade my ordeal for anything. Although unpleasant, it was definitely used by God to bring me to His greater purposes... just as you said it would.

For me, the beauty of your Resources Unlimited Group training is that it is not simply designed to help a person “get a job.” Instead, I found all of the following to be true:

  • I was helped emotionally, mentally, and spiritually through a difficult time of transition.

  • I discovered the types of positions for which I was best suited.

  • I was taught how to make the most of the “hidden job market.” Despite my initial skepticism, I really did discover that the most rewarding positions are found there.

  • I learned how to market myself.

  • I received training on how to continually cultivate a list of references and networking contacts.

  • I learned many tips on how to reduce my chances of being “pink slipped,” once employed.

Over the past five years, I have turned to my Resources Unlimited Group manual again and again, in an effort to stay-up-to-date on the valuable information I received. Thank you so much for this practical and Godly training, whose usefulness far outweighs the initial financial investment.

To whom it may concern:

I had the privilege to have Mr. Jim Davis, Owner, Resources Unlimited Group, assist me in making a career change following a thirty-one year career in public school administration. Jim did an outstanding job helping me identify a career focus with specific goals and objectives that was consistent with my personality, temperament, skills, and gifts. He skillfully helped me translate and communicate my past work experience and skill-set into the language of the job marketplace. Finally, through clear expectations, role playing, and specific assignments orchestrated by Jim, I developed confidence and strategies to present myself to prospective employers.

I enthusiastically recommend Jim’s services to anyone seeking new or enhanced career opportunities. His professional skills, enveloped in a thorough understanding and commitment to Biblical truth and a desire to honor God in all things, can help you to accomplish your career goals.

13. Jennifer Schulman letter of recommendation

Dear Jim,

I have had you on my heart and my mind a lot for the past several weeks. I am finally walking out my focus statement Jim! At first, I looked at it every day, well, almost every day. I didn’t just look at it, I started reading it out loud. Now, I don’t look at it because I know it by heart. I have it memorized. It’s who I am, it’s become a part of me. Now, I am walking it out. I do it on purpose at times and other times I don’t even realize that I am doing it until after I have done it. I am beginning to work this thing out in my church, with my friends and family.

My life has changed and you have had a large part in that. You were the second man to come along and love me like Jesus. Did you know that? The timing was perfect. I needed a man to stand for me and say the things that you have said to me. Thank you! One day Jim you will know as you are known. You will see the spiritual significance of all of our get togethers and talks. It has impacted me more than you can ever possibly know. You have been an incredible friend to Aaron and I. You have stuck by us when no one else could or would.

I have an informative meeting February 22nd at my church with 6-8th grade girls and their parents about the vision that God has given me for young girls and their moms. The vision was birthed through my pain and loneliness. If I had not gone through what I have gone through, then maybe this “pearl of purity” wouldn’t exist. So therefore, I wouldn’t change a thing.

I’m not lonely anymore. I have friends, people who want to be around me. I have more confidence than I have ever had in my life. I make people laugh and feel good. God is using me to bring people back to Him. I get to teach real life principles to preteen girls! Hello! Umm did you see me doing something like this four years ago? Not me!

I feel that the focus statement has had a major impact on me and my life. The Holy Spirit used that to bring me to where I am and to take me to where I am going. Don’t get me wrong, I am not where I need to be yet, but I am not where I was! My life has changed and I am getting better and stronger in Jesus.

I love you and I want to say thank you for being a spiritual father. You stepped up when my biological father stepped down.

God bless you and return to you 100 fold,
